Investigation launched in Dolores County, CO after 23% of voters didn’t receive ballots
Choate sent a letter to the USPS, stating that he thinks USPS lost the ballots after they were loaded onto a truck in Seattle. The barcodes for these ballots were never scanned at the Albuquerque, New Mexico General Mail Facility and didn’t show up as delivered to the voters.
Choate believes the ballots were lost somewhere between the Seattle loading dock and the Albuquerque delivery scan, while in USPS possession.
After the letter, USPS started an investigation.
Right now, the House District 58 Republican Primary race is being recounted.
USPS gave a statement to FOX31, saying they are aware of the issue with outgoing ballots arriving late in Dolores County. They are taking the matter seriously and working with the Colorado Secretary of State to resolve it. They apologized for any worry this has caused.
